It works 100% of the time, and i can go as far as to say that it is the holy grail of whole trading/ investing world, where in only in few situations, the fundamentals are great for swing trades, and perfect for finding & holding the company for years, but only with 70-100% technicals (where in long term stocks etc, it could be 60-70%). And i can prove it.
And this is what I had in my mind to post about it. (From my phone notes)
--An Article proving that news are not are not related to the "unusual move" but is precise and according to the structure of chart.
○An article proving the same as up, but for releasing of earnings of stocks & the chart moves, proving they done move as expected for years (like move up when earnings are up, & bring the forecast of earnings in the this theory too, on how forecast actually kills the direction of the move even when earnings are up significantly, because the expected earnings were even more) and except for more than few years where it falls back to the earnings line. --
From my studies, systematic rule-based TA strategies are like Unicorn Pooh to find. Technical Analysis, paired with an experienced trader who is reading the market is very profitable.
The way you describe TA as a coordination mechanism rather than a prediction engine is exactly right.
One thing that resonates from a macro/fundamental lens is that it doesn’t have to be either/or: fundamentals are often the catalyst ie the policy surprise, the growth/inflation impulse, but technicals are where that catalyst gets expressed through positioning and execution.
The macro tells you why the regime might be changing. The chart tells you where capital is committed, where liquidity sits, and where participants will be forced to act.
In that sense, fundamentals drive the vote, but technicals map the chips on the table.
What a fantastic article! You’ve articulated so many of the feelings, observations, and unspoken thoughts that I’ve experienced as a developing trader. Thank you for another excellent write-up!
Very thoughtful, I enjoyed reading this I think your insights are helpful and instructive. I will do some further digging into some of your observations. Thank you!
